Starting from F/1.8 the resolution is nice, real nice. Wide-open we get a sharp image with a slight soft-haze layer over it, at least that's how I see it. Anyway, the lens is fully sharp at F/2.8 and stays so all the way to F/11 as per my naked-eye scrutiny. I would not hesitate to recommend using if from wide-open, though. Importantly, this behavior extends to the whole frame. (Inspecting the corners, if you must, look at the thin branches in the background, as the foreground ones are out of the depth-of-field range.)
